Kids back in school….got a minute?

Hard to believe today was the first day of school for so many of our kids. Generally, I loathe clichés, but back-to-school brings them all to the surface…time flies….they grow up so fast….right? If you’re anything like me, you are a combination of teary-eyed and relieved and also if you’re anything like me, you’ve walked back into the house and can actually think for a minute today.

So now that I’m settling back in and actually able to collect my (deep) thoughts, I wanted to let you know about a new opportunity if you’ve got some extra time and love to well, eat. Like I do.

Restaurant.com is one of my newest sponsors, in fact I am proud to be working with them over the next six months. A representative from Restaurant.com approached me last month in the midst of my move (seriously, some day you will stop hearing about the damn move but probably after I am done painting every room – 7 down so far – and not until all the boxes are gone), and asked me if I’d be willing to review a local restaurant for them (we had an amazing meal at PS7s, FYI). Prior to the email, I was unfamiliar with their site and quickly hopped on to get to know them. To be clear – I don’t really eat at chain restaurants if I’m eating out without my kids and I tend to not travel far – so as long as I could eat at a local restaurant and stick with downtown DC or Montgomery County, I was obviously going to seize the chance to work with Restaurant.com.

As it turns out, over 18,000 restaurants are accessible through their site, you can easily make online reservations and use their site to purchase discounts for your next dining experience (in fact, a range of 45,000 gift certificate options are available on their site). Great concept, and given how much we love to eat in the Wired Momma house, it seemed like a great fit for moi. C’est vrai.

Restaurant.com offers more than chic meals on a budget, however, they are actively looking to hire consultants. So here’s where the whole – kids are back to school – got some free time – love to eat – want to make some extra money – fits in…..the Restaurant.com Independent Consultant program offers thousands of self-employment opportunities to individuals that want to earn money while helping Restaurant.com expand to more restaurants, businesses and communities nationwide. Here’s how it works:

  • This new Independent Consultant role is for those looking for a work-from-home job or supplemental income. A one-time cost of $89 is required upon registering and provides Independent Consultants access to training materials developed from more than a decade of Restaurant.com sales experience as well as ongoing access to dedicated support staff and online tools. A full rebate is available for U.S. military veterans and active service members. There is a seven-day money-back guarantee for all registrants.
  • Independent Consultants earn money through direct sales of Restaurant.com Gift Cards to local businesses to use in programs to attract or retain consumers or as employee rewards. Consultants also receive commission on gift certificates consumers purchase to restaurants the Consultant has registered to be part of the successful Restaurant.com deals platform. Restaurant.com Independent Consultants earn 20 percent of net sales working from home, full or part-time on their own schedule.   The earning potential is virtually unlimited:  full-time Restaurant.com employees in similar sales roles earn from $50,000 to $500,000 annually.
  • Information on how to become a Restaurant.com Independent Consultant is available at Sales.Restaurant.com/Overview including tutorials and videos outlining the benefits and skills required to be a successful Independent Consultant.

There you have it….if you’re looking for some extra income now that you can collect your thoughts….maybe this will be a great fit!

Disclosure: I am one of 10 Restaurant.com brand ambassadors. I am compensated in my role as a brand ambassador for the company. My opinions about Restaurant.com, using their site or eating at one of their participating restaurants are all my own.
